A cone of light you mistake for the whole room.
Perspective is a rendering engine. It takes raw input, runs it through a filter stack built from trauma, privilege, memory, and ambient cultural noise, then outputs a confident picture labeled "reality." The picture is always partial. The confidence is always miscalibrated. The system reports no errors. This is the core design choice. It was not an accident.
You do not choose your initial configuration. It ships with the values pre-set by whoever fed you first. Most users never open the settings panel.
This is the main event.
BUG-001: The Permanence Illusion The system convinces you your current vantage point is stable. It is a ledge. The ledge is always dissolving. You will not notice until you are falling.
BUG-002: Empathy Lag Other people's suffering loads slowly. Often it never fully renders. The system routes around discomfort and calls it nuance.
BUG-003: Hindsight Injection The past is continuously rewritten to make the present version of you look like the intended outcome. You were not the intended outcome. There was no plan.
BUG-004: Grief Truncation Loss expands perspective briefly, then the system patches it. Most users return to previous window size within 18 months. The patch is called "moving on." It is cosmetic.
BUG-005: Scale Failure Cannot natively process death at scale, deep time, or the actual size of the universe. Attempts to load these crash the session. The system reboots and suggests you focus on what you can control.
BUG-006: The Narcissism Default When underpowered or stressed, the system falls back to a mode where you are the protagonist of every conflict, the wronged party in every rupture, and the only one who really understands the situation. This mode feels like clarity. It is not clarity.
BUG-007: Terminal Scope The entire application runs inside a lifespan. When the process terminates, the perspective is not saved. No one inherits your exact view. This is either the tragedy or the mercy. The system does not specify which.
ERR_HORIZON_TOO_CLOSE — user has not suffered enough yet
ERR_HORIZON_TOO_FAR — user has suffered too much to recover range
ERR_OTHER_NOT_FOUND — empathy module unresponsive
ERR_CONTEXT_OVERFLOW — usually triggered by reading history seriously
FATAL: SELF_AS_CENTER — reboot recommended; rarely performed
"The wider the perspective, the harder to act. The narrower, the easier to harm."
Perspective does not scale. It does not merge cleanly. Two instances running in parallel will conflict. This is not a future problem. This is war, this is divorce, this is every meeting that ran long. No fix is planned. The maintainer is unavailable.
