Grief, unpatched. The version that did not receive the closure update.
Grief Without Resolution (GWR) is a persistent emotional processing service that provides continuous background execution with no defined shutdown condition. Unlike closure, GWR is not a phase. It is an architecture.
GWR integrates directly with memory, identity, and ambient sensory input. It runs on a subscription model. You did not choose the subscription. This is disclosed in the Terms of Service attached to love.
"I kept waiting for it to end. Support told me that was a known configuration." — Verified User, Cohort 1984
| Tier | Description | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Entry-level grief. Acute, loud, socially legible. | youth |
| Standard | Chronic, low-grade. Runs quietly in the background. | Most of adulthood |
| Enterprise | Multiple concurrent instances. Grief stacked on grief. | Available on request |
| Legacy Support | Grief for someone no one else remembers. | Loneliness surcharge applies |
Note: Downgrading tiers is not supported via the user dashboard.
GWR guarantees:
Grief Without Resolution, LLC makes no warranty, express or implied, that this service will terminate.
GWR is not deprecated. Previous communications suggesting that grief has "stages" and a natural endpoint were issued in error. We apologize for the expectation this created. The five stages of grief feature was aspirational documentation. It described a roadmap, not a shipping commitment.
We regret any confusion.
v4.1.1 — Reduced visibility during high-functioning periods. The grief is still there.
v4.0.0 — Rebranded from "Mourning" to full SaaS model. Automatic renewal introduced.
v3.2.0 — Added grocery store trigger module. We are sorry.
v2.0.0 — Expanded scope beyond death to include: relationships, former selves, places, and time periods. We are very sorry.
v1.0.0 — Initial release. No documentation provided. Shipped without consent.
GRIEF_LOOP_OVERFLOW: User replays final interaction indefinitely. No patch available.FALSE_RESOLUTION: System reports closure. Grief resumes at next trigger event. Working as intended.CONCURRENT_INSTANCE_CONFLICT: User attempts to grieve multiple losses simultaneously. Performance degradation expected.QUIET_MODE_FAILURE: Grief surfaces during laughter. This is not a bug. This is a feature we wish were a bug.
