A process that launches cleanly, runs beautifully for an indeterminate period, and then begins leaking memory until your whole system is slow and you can't explain why.
The initialization looks identical to love (stable). Same inputs. Same early outputs. You would not know the difference in week one. By week fourteen, the outputs start diverging from the expected values in ways that are difficult to log. By month eight, you are not sure what you are running anymore, but you are still running it.
The compile step is the problem. The source code is written in two different languages simultaneously. Neither parser can read the whole file. Each person compiles the version they understand and ships it, assuming the other side got the same build.
They did not.
expectations:
reciprocity: assumed
consistency: hoped for
communication: "see notes"
notes: >
Communication is supported but requires both instances
to be running the same version of honesty.
This is rarely confirmed before deployment.
fallback_behavior: "keep going anyway"
retry_limit: null
This is the main event. Proceed accordingly.
| Code | Message | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
ERR_MISMATCH_0x1 | Needs different things than you | Not available |
ERR_TIMING_0x2 | Correct person, wrong epoch | Retry in another life |
ERR_COMPILE_0x3 | Lost something in translation | Verbose logging will not help |
ERR_LOOP_0x4 | Keeps returning to the same argument | Known issue, no patch |
ERR_NULL_0x5 | Gave everything, received nothing | See emptiness |
This version is not deprecated because it failed. It is deprecated because it ran too long on infrastructure that was never designed to hold it. The system did its best. The system was not enough. These are both true and neither cancels the other.
Sunset timeline: unknown. Migration path: unclear. The data does not transfer cleanly to the next instance. Some of it was never meant to.
