A persistent background process she agreed to carry before she understood the terms.

How it works

It does not announce itself. It surfaces during silence: the long pause between dinner and sleep, the forty-minute drive, the shower where nothing else competes. It feels like forgetting something important without being able to name what. It is not grief exactly. It is the folder grief left open.

It runs parallel to her daily operations. It does not crash the system. It just uses enough memory that other things run slightly slower than they should.
