A wound that learned to travel light by hiding inside the people who love you.
Generational trauma propagates through three concurrent channels, all of which operate below the level of conscious consent:
Channel 1: Behavioral Caregivers model threat responses. Children compile them as default settings. The original threat has often been gone for decades before anyone notices the alarm is still running.
Channel 2: Narrative Stories that cannot be told leave louder gaps than stories that can. The silence around an event shapes a child's nervous system just as reliably as the event itself would have.
Channel 3: Epigenetic Stress modifies gene expression. Those modifications can be inherited. The body keeps a ledger even when the mind closes the books. This is the mechanism that makes the whole thing feel unfair, because it is.

ERR_001: "I don't know why I react this way"
ERR_002: "My parents did the best they could" (true and insufficient simultaneously)
ERR_003: "I swore I would never become them"
ERR_404: Origin not found. Defaulting to somatic storage.
WARN_001: Pattern detected across three or more generations. Consider intervention.
Default config is inherited and largely invisible. Manual override requires:
"I spent forty years thinking it was just how I was." — nearly every user, eventually
Does it end? It can be interrupted. "End" implies cleaner closure than the data supports.
Who is responsible? Everyone who transmitted it was also carrying it. Accountability and compassion can coexist here. They have to.
Why does it feel personal? Because it is. It just isn't only yours.
